Downtown Los Angeles Renaissance
| Girl #1: | Wow is this how downtown L.A. is everyday? |
| Girl #2: | If you mean the amount of bad art, yes. |
Saturday Morning persists as the sounds of Talking Heads whizzes over my shoulder. Grunts of trucks are heard in the trebling noises from streets below, sending its vibration up my third floor. There are days when I wish downtown was more quiet. Library books are due. Time to go for a brisk walk.
I love walking around Downtown LA. This is an oldie but I thought this would a nice listen for a lazy Sunday morning. Enjoy!

One of the nicest doormen you will meet in Downtown. I haven’t seen Mr. Noe for a few months since he was away for vacation. He possesses such a kind heart. I’ve only known him no less than a year, but I consider him a friend.

If you’re a resident in Downtown L.A., chances are you’ve either seen or spoken with Williams. He’s always gregarious and has stories to tell.
Say hello to Williams:
MARTIAN CHRONICLES
Downtown L.A. is a foreign planet at times. The short is in tribute to Ray Bradbury’s “The Martian Chronicles” and the wonderful film, “Fantastic Planet.”

STREET MUSIC
Walking around Downtown Los Angeles is one of my favorites things to do. There might be moments where so many spontaneous things are going on all at once and at other times you feel like you’re walking in a ghost town. It is these extremes of solitude and solidarity that I find to be so intriguing about LA. It’s no wonder that LA has birthed the film noir genre.

ART WALK
Downtown LA touts every second Thursday per month as “Art Walk.” For one night, the streets become full of pedestrians. I always end up falling in love with the quieter streets, the streets that go unnoticed. Observing how the indigenous downtowners spend their evening brings a different perspective to LA.

THE DARKNESS
One thing that I’ve always taken away about Downtown Los Angeles is the feeling of complete isolation. Despite the wave of new residents, it’s a rare thing to witness the streets of downtown being inhabited at night. This singular observation makes Downtown LA a uniquely beautiful place to be.

ALL THINGS
This short was inspired and accompanied by a song entitled “All Things” written by my good friend Kevin E. Craft.

STREET SOUNDS
Jack Kerouac knew a thing or two regarding his observation of Los Angeles. Downtown Los Angeles epitomizes his thoughts.
