Thank You Paul Kim.

It’s always great hearing kind words of encouragement when you begin something new. I recently got a nice facebook message (yes Google, FB messages is the new gmail) from my old friend, Mr. Paul Kim:
lovin these pieces. your composition, direction, cinematography, editing, the choices you make are all fantastic. but that doesn’t really surprise me b/c i’ve always liked your pictures.
my favorites are the ones where you captured and conveyed the people’s personalities in such a short time frame. the ones that seemed to focus a little more about character development. esther kim where you use her hand motions with no audio, her drawing, her talking but the shot was on her hands, etc. williams miyazaki, lupe fiasco. you use audio sparingly, yet you get a true sense of who these people are. these ones drew me in and left me wanting more.
the others are great as well as standalone video art pieces. i can’t remember which one it was now, but the one where you shoot the violinist on the street. the violin music moves from source to score, as you cut to the girl walking away from camera and down the street. very nice.
feelin this “project” big time
Thanks again Paul for taking the time to watch and also for your in-depth analysis. It is words like these that keep me going.
