Patrick (Mosley Tribes) invited me next door to share a chat. This frame case is a Japan only exclusive specially made for Oliver Peoples. Of course many of you are familiar with the Porter collection, Yoshida & Co. have been making bags since 1962. This case will go handy with my new NDG frames.
Friday was a breezy day. A relaxing day in WeHo. CNN blared the latest announcement coming from the McCain camp of his choosing a woman as his running mate. The plot continues to thicken…
RVCA is an example of how a sport brand fuses culture in a very organic method. Founded by the love of surf, the brand began within the action sports category and now is involved from anything ranging from track bikes, to UFC fighting, to the arts, and to of course surf and skate. I recently came across their recent release of ANP Quarterly, RVCA’s very own printed publication discussing the arts in a candid yet informative manner. The production alone is beautiful. Embracing a large format print, the cover is matte finish, binding is a casual saddle stitch, and the colors are bright. Photography and writing is top notch. I highly encourage you to pick a copy up and take a gander. RVCA constantly impresses me.
I rolled out to the opening of the new Revolve Clothing Store on Melrose. It’s amazing to see how online companies are making headway and being able to create actual physical locations. The new store is well designed. It’s been a while since I’ve been to one of these outings. Caught up with a bunch of folks. LA’s fashion and contemporary designers are killing as of late. It’s an exciting time to witness this particular movement. For those who have yet to peep it, you guys should roll out this Friday for the public opening party where you can also shop the goods.
MAPS from Korea is stepping up with each issue. When I first saw the initial issues, I was afraid that the magazine was going to succumb to nothing but mind numbing streetwear. Yet judging from the last few editions, MAPS is highlighting all the relevant contemporary and street fashion designers in Korea. It’s exciting to see all these creative movements taking place. The art direction of the book looks good. I anticipate the future issues to come.
I saw Janelle perform a few months ago and I was blown away. She IS THE FUTURE. I came across this clip and I thought I’d show you a feel of what this girl is all about. Support good music! Also stay tuned on EM as we will be posting an interview with Ms. Monae soon.
My homegirl, Linda (Lovemade/Burton) showed me this link and I had to post it. This girl obviously has some mental issues but man to see this girl react on the train is crazy.
Here’s another version. A reenactment. I love Youtube!
Jdubb (Five Four) who I deem as my Favorite Marketing Director was so kind to grace me with this kind gift. A 100% Silk Tie that was made specifically for the New York Giants for their Super Bowl Championship. I especially enjoyed the packaging. Red, white and blue on white is always a great color combination. The tie is immaculate and the details, down to the trim is top notch. Thanks guys for this commemorative piece.
