I know some of you have seen the trailer of “City of God’s Son” around the web. Tonight I had a chance to take in the screening in Chelsea. Kenzo is a gentle fellow and an amazing artist. Some of you might know Nam June Paik, Kenzo is Paik’s grand nephew. And carrying on in the grand tradition of experimental film, Kenzo provided a forum that I experienced none other before. I watched this film along with a hundred or so people in a dark basement that was converted into a movie theatre. On each seat was placed a set of state of art headsets and a sleeping mask. Kenzo gave a brief intro speech the the film began. We watched the 5 minute intro then was asked to put on our sleeping masks. What occured next was a pure audio journey. Kenzo remixed and created a narrative involving Nas, Raekwon, Jay-Z, Biggie, Samuel L. Jackson as well as Scarface among others. He weaved these characters together in creating a fictional yet credible world purely living within its soundscape. Incredible! Tonight I am inspired!!!

As you guys might know I’m working at Epiphany these days. The company is a small but robust team. The last week alone, we produced a few events and each and every time I didn’t have a chance to really  take pics since I was busy and I also lost my camera. Anyhow I finally had a chance to get a new one (Thx Coltrane), so here’s a few pics of the recent TAG event we produced. The air gets kinda hectic and tense before each event but I think we executed rather well. Special thanks to all those in the LA fam that attended, you know who you are. I’m heading to NY morrow to tend to some events we have to take care of here. Word.

Lovemade and Puma are pleased to announce a monthly series of events simply titled the “Puma Monthly Music Series.” For the inaugural event, a special celebration will take place at the Ecco Lounge in Hollywood on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 as the two have combined to present an event celebrating the launch of “What Do You Dance?”

 “What Do You Dance?” is a new online network created by dancer and choreographer extraordinaire Fatima Robinson, who created this as a platform to present an interesting take on fashion and lifestyle from a dancer’s perspective. It is an interactive experience with a forum, an event section, blogs and much more for people to express what’s on their mind, or to simply share information with fellow users.
 
 For this kickoff jam, Lovemade has done what they do best and organized a party reflecting the spirit of this newest venture from Fatima. Lovemade ladies have put together a great lineup of DJs including Rashida (America’s Best Dance Crew/ Prince) , Smiles Davis( Ameoba Records) , Posso the DJ (Designer of Posso the Spat) and Wendy City (Lovemade) all of whom will be providing the evening’s soundtrack, while Mark “The Cobrasnake” Hunter will be in the house capturing the action.
 
 With that being said, be sure to look sharp, be prepared to dance, and come celebrate the launch of “What Do You Dance?” with all of us!

I hit up What Comes Around Goes Around, Space 1520’s latest new resident. I think it’s time that Hollywood finally got a dose of reality and something fresh, the entire Space 1520 concept is so on point, creating a community environment that feels like an escape from what we’re normally used to for retail destinations. Big ups to Grace of Think PR for getting us in and a big hello and huge hug to my excellent friend, the ever talented Josh Madden (DCMA). The crowd got thick in a quick second so I had to bounce out. Great store with great selections! Be sure to peep this spot soon!
