December 13th, 2008-Sat Events, My Life, News & Notables:

Saturday was a busy day. I stopped by the Pepsi Pop Up shop as they were setting up. In case you haven’t noticed, Pepsi has revamped their logo and brand identity. Looks pretty sweet.

Coltrane (Epiphany Media, LLC) is always bringing in the energy. DJ Fashen was spinning the jams and Coltrane was really feeling it. Watch my man show his moves, ha!

A steady flow of foot traffic was coming in all day. It was great to mingle and re-connect with peeps I haven’t seen in a while.

Later The Clipse performed. Shit was out of control.

All in all, the Pepsi Pop Up concept really worked out. It gathered the community of Los Angeles together and provided general good vibes overall. I mean we all grew up drinking Pepsi so it’s kinda rad that Pepsi now recognizes this and is supporting the community in such a big way.

Comments:
  1. Looks interesting, but what exactly are they supporting? I don’t want to come off as a detractor but, from the outside it looks like a brand supporting a “lifestyle” based on somewhat superficial consumerism.

  2. What up Jason. Pepsi is supporting the independent fashion designers. Superficial consumerism really depends on who you ask. Is buying clothes superficial, in one sense yes. However in another sense clothing is a necessity. Independent Designers arise because there is a need for things beyond the necessity. Pepsi recognizes this and they invited a group of people to collaborate on this.

  3. I see, I didn’t come off as presumptuous. I’m not an insider, it seems like an attempt for Pepsi to as Coltrane would say, “influence the influencer’s”. I guess it’s a win win; independent designers get exposure and a platform and so does Pepsi
