July 31st, 2008-Thu My Life:

I was working at the Cassette studio today. Josh (DCMA) came in and later he called his friend and mentor Dan to swing by. Both Josh and Dan are from New York and happened to be both in LA at the same time. Ever since I met Josh, we hit it off because we were able to share real in-depth conversations about culture and the role creativity has within it. Also, Josh is one of the most genuine people you will ever meet. So when Josh told me about Dan, and how about how much of an influence he was on him, I was eager to meet the man. Dan currently runs (Sarkissian Mason), a full service interactive agency that include ESPN to Boeing among their esteemed clientele. In addition to that, Dan is just as expected, a very classy guy. His history is deep. He is the founder of one of the first snowboarding clothing brands - Twist - back in the 90s. He’s played a integral role with virtually every significant person and brand within the action sports/street/fashion/art communities. Dan was wearing Thom Browne from head to toe, and it turns out that he has a few friends who work for the brand itself. Clearly a man ahead of the curve. I shared a very enjoyable conversation and I look forward to reconnecting with Dan when I’m back in New York.
