Bryant (YEH Studio) came by today to grab some food and share a chat. Bryant is an architect and designer. He used to work with Frank Gehry  and now runs his own studio. Recently he’s worked on Shepard Fairey’s new Echo Park studio located on Sunset blvd. Bryant is always working on a variety of different projects from interiors to furniture design. A pleasure meeting you today sir!

I love Echo Park. This weekend, we hosted The Echo Park Sale with House of Cassette. Lots of people came through which was nice. I think we’re planning to extend the sale throughout this week as well. 

I had an opportunity to watch Renaissance. I came across the movie by watching the trailer not too long ago. The movie turned out to be a visual experience that I’ve haven’t come across in many months. Set in 2054 in Paris, the premise of the story is based around Avalon, a powerful company that governs its sphere of influence throughout the city. The aesthetic beauty of black and white permeates this film, characters move within their transient selves, floating almost at times. A pure visual experiment worth seeing.

I met up with John (Theme Magazine) and PJL (Cassette) tonight at Short Stop for a drink or two. Lately I’ve been really enjoying dark beer. Both John and PJL are like older brothers to me. I think they get a kick out of me telling my stories, they’re quick to give a friendly jab and give me advice. Sometimes in the city, the bar plays a role for common ground for people to convene and connect. Cheers.

Last April, Kenny Mac and I hosted our monthly dinners at Providence care courtesy of 10 Cane Rum. The entrees were divine. The special 10 Cane drinks themselves were on another level.
