Special thanks to Greg at Zoo York for sending me these lovely skate decks. They’ll make an excellent addition to my collection. Good looks!

Felipe (Community Shorts) came by the studio to formally meet Steve & Tony [city of others] - a new denim company based out of LA who’s unique logo, namely the brackets, the idea of putting things into context through new media and apparel is an experiment in itself. Be sure to keep your eyes open on these guys.

We hosted the last event at the Cassette 523 space today. To part the space with a Yonehara solo exhibit was icing on the cake. So many heads rolled in and the place got pretty freaky. Big ups to the Cassette Crew!

Eric Haze was in town to showcase his new works at ALIFE LA. Inspired from the works of Dumar Brown’s Nov York. The energy was totally on point. Plenty of 10 Cane drinks to replenish those who came out in droves. Congrats again to Eric and to Alife LA for hosting.

I arrived this morning to find the Skate Study House sign complete. Marc Anthony (SoleTech) did a fantastic job. The furniture goes very well with our aesthetic in our studio. Thanks again Gilles!

We have the pleasure to host the EM studio for the Skate Study House. Today Marc Anthony (SoleTech) came by to paint the sign. Marc is a very easy going person and it was great being able to share a good conversation as he worked. The finished result was quite nice to see.

A dear old friend visited the office today. My man Kevin Craft who I used to work with back in the RIOTTT offices. Big Kev is now working in New York at a Marketing agency where he’s currently working on the Converse skate program. He so happened to be in the area so he stopped by and plopped on the God Father Lounge Chair. I thought this pic was a great representation of who Kev is to me: A refined skater with refined tastes. The man writes some amazing music as well.

Tonight, Kenny Mac and I hosted our monthly Politix As Usual dinner with support from 10 Cane at Providence. Tonight’s esteemed guests were: Ahna (LA Times), Sylvia (Evil Monito), Jamaal (Zune), Grace (Fiji Water), Patrick (Oliver Peoples), Maria, Robert (Creative Recreation),  Jamie (Stones Throw) and Amy (People). These dinners are proving to get better each and every time. We’re able to converse over a fine meal and share a laugh while meeting new people. Something LA generally lacks as it’s increasingly difficult to meet people in different industry sectors. Once again the entrees and desserts were heavenly.

Ryota (Cinpila) stopped by this evening. We are working on a project soon to be released. Ryota is an Echo Park resident and we hit it off the first time I met him several months ago. He’s super talented in hand made leather goods. We had a chance to do a quick Q&A as well, Peep it!

To celebrate the launch of Evil Monito Magazine, we had a local neighborhood BBQ where invited local EM contributors as well as our awesome web guys of Shurpa. I learned how to make margaritas from Sly (Evil Monito) recently so we both made sure everyone had their share.

The party went on to the wee hours of the morning. It’s awesome having friends who are musicians and can jam out.
